ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- A nine-year-old girl who went to hospital suffering from stomach pains was found to be carrying her embryonic twin, doctors in central Greece said Thursday.

Doctors at Larissa General Hospital examined the girl and surgically removed a growth they later discovered was an embryo about six centimeters (more than two inches) long.

"They could see on the right side that her belly was swollen, but they couldn't suspect that this tumor would hide an embryo," hospital director Iakovos Brouskelis said.

It's just different when you're married

Three women: one engaged, one married, and one a mistress, are chatting about their relationships and decide to amaze their men....that night all three will wear a leather bodice S&M style, stilettos and mask over their eyes.

After a few days they meet again.....

The engaged girlfriend said: 'The other night, when my boyfriend came back home, he found me in the leather bodice, 4" stilettos and mask.

He said, 'You are the woman of my life, I love you..then we made love all night long.'

The mistress stated: 'Oh Yes! The other night we met in his office. I was wearing the leather bodice, mega stilettos, mask over my eyes and a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat, he didn't say a word. We just had wild sex all night.'

The married one then said: 'The other night I sent the kids to stay at my mother's for the night, I got myself ready, leather bodice, super stilettos and mask over my eyes. My husband came in from work, fell in his mangy Lazyboy, grabbed the TV control and a beer, and said, 'Hey Batman, what's for dinner?'

Prototype is happening

We've recently decided to start rapid development for javascript using prototype, and extended it with script.aculo.us now there are many other JS frameworks that are out there, a few are those such as jquery, Yahoo! YUI, Dojo toolkit, to name but a small few of them, but I've found that prototype is the most uber.

I've been playing around with pretty much all of them over the past 6 months or so and have found it the robustest *new word

We're moving more and more towards web2.0 applications style of coding (we have been for some time, as web2.0's getting old now :p) and have found this very useful.

For example, creating a dragable element using the above. nice.simple()

/**
* Use Event.observe to load the above function to the browser once all the code has downloaded
* Note we'll set up a drag event
*/
Event.observe ( window , 'load',
// Set up a drag event using scripto to drag the login box
	new Draggable( 'login_box', { handle: 'login_handler'} );
});

Event.observe sets up a load event on the window, and new Draggable creates the drag even, neat innit?

Very interesting on power and the globe

Data Centers, Power Consumption, and Global Warming - Will the web crash?

So you’ve heard the hype on going green, wouldn’t you like to know how the internet fits into the big picture of saving energy? Every time you search Google you could power an 11-watt light bulb for an hour… Think that’s bad? Wait until you put that into perspective including sites like YouTube and every other bandwidth hog on the web…

So you now know one single Google search query consumes 2 to 8 watt-hours of energy. To put this on a scale, Google processes petabytes of information on a daily basis while indexing the web and doing other various things. If we average this out to 4.5 watt hours per query, and consider Google is easily handling 400 million queries a day based on comScore metrics, then we can see 1,800,000,000 (1.8 billion) watt-hours of energy being used daily just for basic search queries. The Google Complex itself uses the amount of power as 3,333 California homes.

Some pretty interesting statistics I must say, YouTube using 10% of the world's bandwidth, stjoe!

How will web3.0 work... according to experts?

How Web 3.0 Will Work

You've decided to go see a movie and grab a bite to eat afterward. You're in the mood for a comedy and some incredibly spicy Mexican food. Booting up your PC, you open a Web browser and head to Google to search for theater, movie and restaurant information. You need to know which movies are playing in the theaters near you, so you spend some time reading short descriptions of each film before making your choice. Also, you want to see which Mexican restaurants are close to each of these theaters. And, you may want to check for customer reviews for the restaurants. In total, you visit half a dozen Web sites before you're ready to head out the door.

Some Internet experts believe the next generation of the Web -- Web 3.0 -- will make tasks like your search for movies and food faster and easier. Instead of multiple searches, you might type a complex sentence or two in your Web 3.0 browser, and the Web will do the rest. In our example, you could type "I want to see a funny movie and then eat at a good Mexican restaurant. What are my options?" The Web 3.0 browser will analyze your response, search the Internet for all possible answers, and then organize the results for you.
